CYRANO DE BERGERAC - Neap Tide Productions, NYC

Cyrano De Bergerac By Edmond Rostand
Translated by Gladys Thomas and Mary F. Guillemard

Director: Sivan Raz
Producers: Aaron de Rose, Sivan Raz, Cameron Russell.

This is an OUTDOOR site specific production, taking place in Central Park (Summit Rock). The characters will surround the audience from surprising angles and will communicate with them directly. We will use movement and techniques from the postmodern theater to create a unique and unforgettable experience.

This is a non-union, volunteer production. IF any donations are received, they will be divided between all cast and crew personnel.

Rehearsals will take place during May, June and July in the park. We will rehearse 2-3 times a week, schedule will depend on cast availability, mostly evenings/weekends. Not all cast members will be called for every rehearsal. More rehearsals expected on tech week.

Performances: August 7th, 11th and 14th.

Cyrano de Bergerac

(M, 30s, POC) - [CAST] a classical hero, a swordsman and a poet. Would be dashing, if it wasn't for his unfortunate looks.

Baron Christian de Neuvillette

(M, 20s, any ethnicity) - a beautiful soldier. Gets everything on a silver plate, or he would if he were smarter.

Roxane

(F, 20s, white) - the muse. She has beauty, she has brains, she is incredibly oblivious to her surroundings.

Ligniere

(Any age and gender, POC) - an anarchist poet, loved by some, hated by some. The spirit of revolution. We are looking for a dancer able to self choreograph for this role.

Le Bret

(M, 20-30s, any ethnicity) - Cyrano's best and oldest friend. He's reliable, calm, the voice of reason.

Ragueneau

(Any gender and age, 30s-40s) - a baker by day, poet by night. Charming, loving. A dreamer.

Comte de Guiche

(M, white, 40s) - white privilege personified. Entitled, but not evil.

Ensemble

(Any age, gender and ethnicity) to cover a large range of characters. Soldiers, poets, nuns, theatergoers and more.

Balladeer

(Any age, gender and ethnicity) a part of the ensemble. In addition, the one-person-band telling the story of our play through music. Should play (and own) multiple instruments and sing.
