Review: Skewering Masculinity, in a Hot and Sizzling ‘Fat Ham’
A modern gloss on “Hamlet” set at a backyard barbecue remakes the tragedy as a comedy, and as a challenge for today.

AMNY:
"While the play (which runs just under two hours without intermission) does drag at times, it makes for a fresh, fast and loose adaptation with a keen awareness of masculinity, violence, and family dysfunction."

Review: Fat Ham Comes to Broadway With a Sizzling Cast in an Underbaked Play
https://www.theatermania.com/news/review-fat-ham-comes-to-broadway-with-a-sizzling-cast-in-an-underbaked-play_1697801/
"Funny and thought-provoking as it is, Fat Ham feels like the second-to-last draft of something better. About midway through, the play begins to meander with messy scenes that go strictly for laughs and crowd appeal as the story loses focus on its main character and begins to home in on another. The humor covers up some of the cracks, but not enough to make the surprise ending feel earned."

Fat Ham takes "Hamlet," messes with it, f**ks it up the ass, and soars.

Who cares about the stupid NY Post review? The NY Post is a CONSERVATIVE trash tabloid newspaper. They’re review is not even worth reading
This was absolutely excellent. Funny, smart, wildly entertaining and substantive. Highly recommend.
I saw this last weekend and absolutely loved it. It's a great piece and brilliantly acted. Absolutely HILARIOUS as well. I definitely recommend this one for sure. (Plenty of HIPTIX still remain, too!)
I saw this Sunday evening after missing out on rush to the evening Peter Pan Goes Wrong. I went in pretty blind and had a good time. I bought my tickets using the TodayTix rush - luckily they still had availability in the afternoon.
Caught today's matinee and we loved this. Fun, smart, open....entertaining as hell.
Can't wait for the script to be published in June to dive s bit deeper!

I saw it yesterday, and had such a great time! Can we give Nikki Crawford the Tony now?! She had me in stitches with her shocked face, and broke my heart when she thought Juice was going crazy, so endearing and amazing comedic timing. She was absolutely incredible!
Edit: fix grammar

I saw the show this weekend and also thought she was fantastic. I'm definitely hoping she scores a nomination next month!

Terrific cast in a show that is thoroughly alive and unpredictable. Seriously, you think you know what's going to happen next, but then the characters throw a curve or two or three at you...

Yay!!! Congrats, Nikki!!!
Thank God at least Nikki got a nomination. The snub for Marcel Spears was a robbery most foul...

Finally saw this last night and absolutely loved it. And that karaoke scene was a gorgeous moment. There was a post show talk back with the cast, director, and James Ijames moderated by Colman Domingo.
