BWW used to have one a few years ago. The problem it causes is that you block a user, then they make a comment, then you not knowing what they said make a comment and the thread goes off the rails because you don't know what the blocked user said.

Good point. I vaguely remember it from back in the day as well as the problems you mentioned with it. I wonder if there couldn't be a way to make a blocked person's posts just be blank or blacked out or something.
I don't really block anyone anywhere else (except like Facebook or email and those don't work the same as a message board) so I don't know how other sites do it.

I've just blocked PRS so I don't know what he's saying, but I was wondering if there couldn't be a way to make a blocked person's posts just be blank or blacked out or something.

This would be great. ... it was never be after eight on this board for me.

So I did a search for this feature. From over 10 years ago. Any chance this has been resolved? It sure would be nice not to have to read posts from certain people who have absolutely nothing to add to the conversations but twaddle.
The Parade thread recently made me think the same thing.
Lola, the block feature works effectively now. It used to be a half assed thing where you could see blocked posts when you replied to things, but now you don't see the blocked person at all. All gone. I hope this helps.
Inception, I rarely block anyone unless they are actively harassing or stalking me around the boards (oh the stories). I saw Parade with Jeremy Jordan and I have no need to ever see it again. I don't go into show threads Im not interested in seeing but I was curious why there were so many replies/pages before it even began. Then I read the entire thread. After pages and pages of the same poster bitching/screaming/arguing with everyone (and I mean everyone) about nepotism and defending Ben Platt (because he needs a random to defend him as he hangs in a 40-million-dollar Malibu beach house), I had to block them. They offer nothing to any discussion except drama and just bullsh*t so they had to be gone. Much better! Take care, beauties.
It works very well. BWW is a much kinder place once certain people are blocked.
Just used this for the first time, and it was very difficult to find. It should be an option when viewing someone’s profile.

Go to the settings page under your account. Right near the top you should see a "Message Board" column that has an "Upload new profile photo" link with "Ignore Message Board Users" right under that. Click on it and then enter in the user name of the person you want to block.

OMG thank you. Having been oddly insulted recently for an innocuous post I was desperate for a way to block that person. Thank you for this invaluable info!
