The Third Man - West End Tickets, News, Info & More

Menier Chocolate Factory
53 Southwark St, London SE1 1RU, United Kingdom London

Graham Greene’s brilliant story – which was made into a landmark film and published as a novella – now comes to the stage in a new musical written by Christopher Hampton with music by George Fenton, lyrics by Don Black and directed by Trevor Nunn.

Post-war Vienna is the setting as Holly Martins arrives at the invitation of his friend and hero, Harry Lime, only to discover that Harry has been killed in a car accident. But nothing that he is told about what happened makes any sense. The tension mounts as Holly enters the world of black marketeers and military bureaucracy, culminating in a chase through the Viennese sewers, as Holly tries to discover what happened to Harry…and who is the third man?

This world premiere will keep audiences on the edge of their seats as they are immersed into the world of The Third Man.

BWW Review: HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES at Delaware Theatre Company by Greer Firestone - Sep 18, 2019

Delaware Theatre Co opens its season with THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES. For Arthur Conan Doyle adherents, this is pipedreams away from Benedict Cumberbatch OR in my case, Basil Rathbone (my favorite all time baddest of bad guys in the movies of the 50's).

Opening Next Week in Major Cities Across US John Carpenter's THE FOG (4K Restoration) by Tori Hartshorn - Oct 18, 2018

John Carpenter's first post-Halloween venture into the H.P. Lovecraft-inspired, apocalyptic vein that he would continue to mine in films like The Thing (1982) and Prince of Darkness  (1987), THE FOG depicts the seaside California town of Antonio Bay in the grips of an ancient curse and a creeping mist. Drenched in malevolent atmosphere and packing an ensemble cast that includes Adrienne Barbeau, Tom Atkins, Hal Holbrook and the mother-daughter duo of Janet Leigh and Jamie Lee Curtis, this is the director at his ingenious, chilling best, servicing a contemporary taste for gore while simultaneously evoking the spirit of Val Lewton.

A funny thing happened the other night at the Met when the curtain came down on William Kentridge's stunning new production of Alban Berg's cruel and devastating WOZZECK. They stayed and cheered for an opera with a reputation for being, well, challenging for opera-goers weaned on Figaros and Flutes, Aidas and even Ring Cycles.
